MENGHI JOSÉ LUIS
1902-1985. He starts his artistic education with his maternal grandfather, Fortunato Debenedetti, and continues his studies with Adolfo Montero. His favorite themes are street and still life, but with features reflecting the author’s emotive nature.
1940 Acquisition Award at the Santa Fe Hall.1954 Honorary Mention at the National Hall of Fine Arts for his work “El lirio blanco” (The White Lily).1969 First Prize at the National Hall. He was the founder of “Agrupación de Gente de Artes y Letras”(Arts and Literature People Association), from its creation in 1940 until 1944.
